Inflatable Hungarian dental clinic tours Britain

Great Britain has an undeserved reputation for terrible dentistry. Yet some Britons would apparently rather get their teeth cleaned in Eastern Europe. Medicine is socialized in the UK, and basic dental care is free to those under 16 or over 60, the unemployed, students, veterans and low-income families. For others, government dentists offer lower prices than private practitioners. However, the government does not cover cosmetic dentistry, and a recent reorganization of the way dentists work has prompted many to leave the public sector. Christopher Hall of Hungarian Dental Travel Limited wants Britons to get their cosmetic dentistry in Hungary. And to prove that dentistry in the former Communist nation is safe and modern, a portable, inflatable dental office is touring the island nation. The 13-foot by 13-foot PVC tent is being carried across the country in a former ambulance. Five dentists from Hungary staff outdoor clinics where they offer consultations and estimates to potential patients for US dollars a visit. X-rays come courtesy of a gun-like device adapted for use in the tent. Medical tourism site TreatmentAbroad.net says 22000 Britons went overseas for dental treatment in 2007, and it expects the figure to rise.

Fossils, dinosaurs &, surprisingly, more willies! – Villa de Leiva, Colombia

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow video of a travel blog to Villa De Leyva, Colombia by TravelPod blogger Jenandtony. See this TripWow and more at tripwow.tripadvisor.com Fossils, dinosaurs &, surprisingly, more willies! “This small town lies quite close to Tunja, only a 45 minute drive. We took a collectivo minibus which, remarkably, set off while only half full (they usually wait intil every seat is occupied and one or two people are standing or hanging off the back). We had read that Tunja is significantly higher than Villa de Leyva so we were a bit surprised to find the journey taking us up steep hills. However, we later descended into the valley and into the very picturesque town, which was declared a national monument as long ago as 1954. The entire city centre has been preserved including the original ‘cobbled’ streets (actually very large and irregular stones that were quite difficult to walk on). There has been virtually no modern building in the centre and even on the outskirts, most new houses are built in a kind of ‘colonial’ style that harmonises well with the real thing. It is a popular place for the wealthier citizens of Bogotá to spend weekends as it is only a 4 hour drive. As a result there is a wide range of upmarket hotels and the streets are full of cafes and gift shops. We arrived on Friday and found a stream of big 4x4s arriving and making their way to hotels and second homes that continued through into Saturday. Our bijou hostel is not catering for these people

The city name is derived from the Arabic word al-jazā’ir, which translates as the islands, referring to the four islands which lay off the city’s coast until becoming part of the mainland in 1525. Al-jazā’ir is itself a truncated form of the city’s older name jazā’ir banī mazghannā, “the islands of (the tribe) Bani Mazghanna”, used by early medieval geographers such as al-Idrisi and Yaqut al-Hamawi. THE LOVE BUG – SYMANTEC TECHNOLOGY -

Nature shows us there are the heroes and the villains, as it so also in the bugs world! There are the good guys and the bad guys, as always as seen in films! There are bugs and bugs! It’s not because you’re a bug that you are either good or bad. There are the Heroes chasing the bad bugs and the heroes who are good bugs! Some are wonderful bugs, heroes (Herbie the beetle!). Some not quite as nice.Being a bug doesnt mean anything in itself. Experience shows there are good and bad bugs – either as seen in Films as well as in nature (experiences relevant to science) and also now in technology (cf computer science). So, when we hear the name ‘love bug’ it may not mean anything unless you’re more specific. We may not know it’s now also the nick name of a new kind of insect, a bad bug that affect your computer system, a digital ‘worm’. However we certainly recall the lovely bug, the friendly beetle named Herbie! The amazing Disney adventures of Herbie in ‘The Love Bug’. Such a Lovely bug! Amazing how cinema gives beauty to whatever exists! as if by a magic wand! it may takes inspiration from nature, transcend it to create Beauty! So let’s Focus on the good bug! The heroe! Authors@Google: Gordon Bell & Jim Gemmell

Gordon Bell and Jim Gemmell visit Google’s Mountain View, CA headquarters to discuss their book “Total Recall: How the E-Memory Revolution Will Change Everything.” This event took place on September 25, 2009, as part of the Authors@Google series. In 1998, pioneering computer scientist Gordon Bell and his colleague Jim Gemmell at Microsoft began an experiment called MyLifeBits— an attempt to record Bells entire life digitally. Foreseeing the coming explosion of digital memory capacity and ubiquitous sensing devices, Bell set out to create a database of everything he did, saw, read, ate, felt—his whole life experience. He fused together a digital version of his past (scanned photos, letters, memorabilia, and so on) with a cuttingedge recording of his present, using sensor-enhanced cameras, GPS, and the latest in software technology. Fascination with this amazing undertaking has been ongoing, with features running everywhere from CBS to Scientific American, The New Yorker to Fast Company. But until now the full implications of what is really possible have not been revealed. Bells experiment is only a foretaste of an incredible new era in which memory will go far beyond the human senses and everything can be remembered. You will have total recall. Total Recall outlines the transformation coming that will affect virtually every aspect of our lives. It describes the near-future with heart monitors woven into clothing, wearable cameras that take photographs constantly and

( heritage-key.com ) In the second part of their adventure across Roman London, Ian Smith takes Nicole Favish to the centre of the city to Cornhill. Taking a trip to the basilica forum and St Stephen Walbrook, Ian explains how the Londinium forum was akin to the city centre such as modern day’s Oxford Street and Leicester Square. They attempt to visit the Temple of Mithras but it is currently in the process of being moved. Ian discusses the importance of the River Walbrook to the development of Londinium in ancient times, before the pair go to the London Guildhall, and see the original site of the Roman Amphitheatre. Discussing the blood and gore that would go on as gladiators would battle wild animals, as well as theatre and circus that would serve as the city’s entertainment.
